This information was downloaded from the Internet web site of The News International, a publication of the Jang Group in Karachi.

For the 1988, 1990, 1993, and 1997 election result breakdown per party by number of seats and percentage of votes for Punjab, Sindh, the NWFP and Balochistan, please consult the March 1997 Herald attachment. These statistics were compiled by Dr Ijaz Shafi Gilani of Gallup, Pakistan (The Herald Mar. 1997, 48a).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
