Based on the information provided regarding the individual, the IRBDC was unable to confirm the existence of residence or citizenship rights in the United Kingdom. [ External Affairs Canada, 12 October 1989.] External Affairs Canada maintains that without more information regarding the year of birth, the citizenship of the parents, as well as when and where they were married, it is not possible to determine the residence or citizenship rights of the individual vis-a-vis the United Kingdom. The military service does not appear to be a major determining factor, especially in view of the fact that the individual did not serve in the United Kingdom, but abroad.
