Pakistan: 1. Please provide information on the district of Dir in regard to militant Islamist groups such as the Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) and the Jaish-e-Mohammad. Have these groups been known to target advocates of women's rights or other liberal activists? 2. Please provide further information on the situation for advocates of women's rights, and other liberal activists, in Dir and the NWFP at large. 3. Please provide information on the situation for advocates of women's rights in more liberal locales of Pakistan, such as in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Have any such activists in these cities been harmed by militant Islamists from the NWFP, or for activities conducted in the NWFP? 4. Please provide information on any restrictions that might prevent relocating to a major city such as Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi. 5. Is there any evidence to suggest that ethnic Pushtuns experience mistreatment in Pakistan as suspected supporters of Al Qaeda? What is the situation for Pashtuns in this regard in Karachi?
