Please find attached excerpts from Attacks on the Press that cover 1992 and 1993. A representative of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) who covers Latin America stated that she has not received any reports of mistreatment of journalists in El Salvador since January 1994 (4 Nov. 1994).
An on-line search of sources regularly consulted by the DIRB was unable to produce any additional information on the above subject.
This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
