The Bajuni are a riverine, coastal people of non-Somali origin (Nelson 1982, 92-93). Please see the attached excerpt from Somalia: a Country Study and a copy of the Response to Information Request SOM5071 on the Bajuni of Somalia for further information on their language and location. (The attachment from the 1977 edition of the Area Handbook for Somalia is not currently available to the IRBDC.) Please note that no distinction is made in these sources between the Bajuni of Somalia and the Bajuni of Kenya.
There is no further information currently available to the IRBDC on the Bajuni.
