According to a representative of the Embassy of Togo in Ottawa, in order for a person born in Togo to be considered a national of Togo both parents must be Togolese (27 May 1992). However, if the parents of the child own a business which is officially registered with the Chambre de commerce and which contributes wealth to Togo, the child may be eligible to become a national of Togo (Ibid.). The source added that the government of Togo does allow dual nationality (Ibid.).

Additional and/or corroborative information on the above topic could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC in Ottawa.
