Very little recent information on domestic violence in Lebanon could be found among sources consulted by the Research Directorate within time constraints.

The Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Women (LCRVAW) lodges complaints on behalf of alleged victims of domestic violence (n.d.a), and assists in obtaining police cooperation (ibid. n.d.b). According to the Council, crimes of domestic violence "are so numerous that they no longer seem to shock the public at large..." (n.d.a). The Council further states that honour crimes are still legal, and police are known for not taking victims of violence seriously (ibid. n.d.b). For further information on violence against women, please consult the UK's Immigration and Nationality Directorate's Lebanon: Country Assessment.

No further information on the above-mentioned topic could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
