Iranian forces are reported to have fired mortar shells inside Pakistani territory.
Officials in Baluchistan Province and a spokesman for the Pakistani Border Guards told local media that the incident had occurred on June 10.
The officials said the shells landed two kilometers from a border post in what was described as a desolate area.
No casualties were reported.
Khan Wasey, a spokesman for the Pakistani border guards, said Pakistani forces had responded by firing mortar shells towards Iran.
There was no word on the alleged incident from Iranian officials.
The reported incident comes just days after 23 Shi'ite Muslims from Iran were killed in Baluchistan Province.
Four attackers targeted the pilgrims at a hotel in the town of Tuftan near the border with Iran.
