A list of victims of the Iranian government in 1991 published in 1992 could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. In January 1992 Amnesty International reported that there had been more than 750 executions in Iran during 1991, and perhaps 300 political arrests in December alone (Jan. 1992, 1). However, none of the reports produced by Amnesty International in 1992 provides a list of these victims.
However, please find attached various Urgent Action reports produced by Amnesty International in 1991, as well as a list of prisoners given to the government of Iran in September 1992 by the special representative of the Commission on Human Rights of the United Nations.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
