Information implicating Pamji Kaunda in the death of a woman between 1985-1990 is currently unavailable to the IRBDC. The involvement of Kambarage Kaunda, President Kaunda's youngest son in the death of a young woman named Tabeth Mwanza in 1990, has been widely reported by the international press (Reuters, 3 November 1989; 28 July 1990; 3 August 1990; October 1990; 20 September 1990; Manchester Guardian Weekly, 19 August 1990; Globe and Mail, 2 August 1990). Although Kambarage Kaunda admitted to firing the shot that killed Tabeth, he acquitted reportedly "on instructions from the director of public prosecution" (Reuters, 6 October 1990).
