Information on the government attitude towards nationals leaving the country illegally could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. However, attached please find a 20 May 1994 UNHCR report as well as a 25 January 1994 Voz da Resistancia do Galo Negro article carried in a 25 January 1994 issue of FBIS, which contain comments on the problems that rejected refugee status claimants face upon return to Angola. Also attached are 1994 and 1995 press reports on the repatriation of Angolan refugees and the government attitude towards them. These documents may be of use.

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find attached the list of sources consulted in researching this information request.
