Information on the process to grant refugee status or asylum in Guyana could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.
Country Reports 1996 states that Guyana does not have a fixed policy on refugees or asylum (1997, 471). Please find attached two recent media reports on Chinese nationals being offered temporary asylum in Guyana.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints.
