European Union: European Agency for Fundamental Rights

The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) is an independent body of the European Union (EU), established to provide assistance and expertise to the European Union and its Member States (the current 27 countries which are members of the EU), when they are implementing Community law, on fundamental rights matters. The aim is to support them to respect fully fundamental rights when they take measures or formulate courses of action. Therefore, FRA's task is to provide advice based on its expertise and as a result of its activities. FRA was established through Council Regulation (EC) No 168/2007 of 15 February 2007, and is based in Vienna. Website: fra.europa.eu
