No information is currently available to the IRBDC regarding the possible ill-treatment of Punjabi students in educational institutions in Karachi and elsewhere in Sindh Province. Very little information on the problems of Punjabis on a more general level is currently available to the IRBDC. An article appearing in The Economist on 8 October 1988 mentions that "for three years there have been battles, mostly in Karachi, between mohajirs, Pathans and Punjabis. When one lot attacks the other, retaliation usually follows." This article is attached for your information. No corroborating information regarding this article is currently available to the IRBDC.
