HIGHLIGHTS

  • As of 31 December, a total of 207,616 confirmed cases, and 7,849 deaths of COVID-19 were reported.
    The recovery rate was 89.3% with 3.8% case fatality rate.

  • The leading causes of morbidity among all age groups were Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) and acute diarrheal disease across the country.

  • WHO provided 957.5 MT of medical and non-medical supplies in December 2022, which will benefit 6,852,200 people in 34 provinces through 223 health facilities.

  • The OCCD has been implementing health and nutrition, and first aid trauma post projects in the northeast, southern and central provinces, which includes two first aid trauma posts, 20 mobile and 33 static health facilities.

  • UNFPA and its implementing partners delivered lifesaving Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) care services through 122 health facilities (111 MHTs, eight BHCs and three health facilities at zero point) and one Transition Center across the country.

  • AAH supports lifesaving primary health care and nutrition services in Helmand, Ghor, Badakhshan, Daikundi, and Kabul provinces through 20 MHTs, 20 SHCs and seven TFUs.
