OVERVIEW

In support of the Government-led response, humanitarian organizations provided assistance to 324,000 people in February and 170,000 people so far in March, primarily in the most aected governorates of Aleppo, Hama and Lattakia. Frequent changes in the designation of collective shelters continue to aect humanitarian programmes across all sectors but shelter and WASH are the most aected. The number of shelters in Aleppo decreased to 83 by 14 March. While in Lattakia as of 16 March, 24 collective shelters were operational, adaptation works were completed in nine, are ongoing in ve and are scheduled to commence in the remaining four. Resource gaps remain as a key concern with the shelter and NFI sector reporting on 16 March that their partners’ contingency NFI stocks had been depleted and unless replenished they do not have any emergency response capacity.
