In Yemen, at least one child dies every ten minutes due to preventable diseases.

The world’s worst humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding in Yemen.

More than seven years of conflict have devastated Yemen, already one of the poorest countries in the Middle East. An estimated 20 million Yemenis are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. Millions more have fled their homes to escape conflict and now face disease and looming famine. The worsening violence is resulting in widespread casualties and massive displacement, further compounded by cholera outbreaks and food shortages.

The COVID-19 pandemic has only made things worse, with a fatality rate in Yemen among the highest worldwide.

More than 16 million who will go hungry this year. Tens of thousands are already living in famine-like conditions, with 5 million more just one step away from famine. The most urgent task in Yemen today is to prevent widespread famine on a scale we have not seen for forty years.
