Refugee fisherman Adam Sallé Moussa, 42, fled to the Dar Es Salam camp in Baga Sola, Chad after a Boko Haram attack on his village on the Nigerian side of Lake Chad. He fishes in the lake at nearby Doro Boullam and returns to his wife and three children in the camp when he has earned some money.

Binta, a young refugee from Guinea, and kind-hearted retiree Georgine help each other. Binta is good with computers and Georgine helps her look for work. ‘Buddy’ programmes in Belgium pair up local volunteers and refugees, to promote integration and create lasting friendships.

Sameer, 55, was displaced by the conflict in 2018. He and his family were uprooted from Taizz governorate and now live in Senan site in Al Dhihar district in Ibb governorate, Yemen. Their makeshift tent is made of pieces of plastic and cardboard and fails to meet minimum protection standards.
