Information specific to the harassment of Uzbeki citizens who are married to non-Muslims or foreigners is not currently available to the DIRB. However, Human Rights Watch World Report 1992 indicates that there have been attacks against Russians and people of "apparent European extraction" (1993, 236). In addition to the excerpt from this report, please find attached information on Islamic fundamentalism from a document published by the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe and a Response to Information Request on discrimination in the former Soviet Union against citizens who married foreigners.
