Refugees in Thailand

Today there are some 97,000 refugees in Thailand. Most refugees (91,040 as of September 2022, under reverification) are ethnic minorities from Myanmar, mainly Karen and Karenni, who live in nine camps in four provinces along the Thai-Myanmar border. There are also approximately 5,000 refugees and asylum-seekers of some 40 nationalities who live in Bangkok and the surrounding urban areas
