No information on whether "A" and "C" status refugees are issued Dutch travel documents for overseas travel could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. No specific information as to the consequences for "A" and "C" status refugees caught using a false passport could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, according to section 14(1)(a) of the Aliens Act, an alien's permanent residence permit may be withdrawn "if the permit was issued on the strength of false information." Section 15c(1)(d) states that one of the grounds for which asylum claims are to be considered manifestly unfounded is the use of false or forged documents (The Netherlands, 23 Dec. 1993).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
