Information on the structure, process and jurisdiction of military courts in Turkey is currently unavailable to the DIRB. However, the attached Amnesty International report and section of Encyclopedia of the Third World provide some information on the above-mentioned courts.

 According to Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1991, military courts of Turkey have their own appeal system; there is a military supreme court of appeals (1992, 1253-1254). Encyclopedia of the Third World also states that "[c]onvictions in [civilian and military courts] may be appealed to civilian and military appeals courts, respectively" (1992, 1989).

 Additional information on the above subject is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
