The December 2001 edition of Travel Information Manual, which provides information on government travel regulations, procedures and restrictions for air travel to and from selected countries, states that exit permits are required for nationals of Sudan (397). These permits, to be obtained before travel tickets can be purchased, must list the countries to which the passenger wishes to travel (ibid.).

No additional information on exit procedures further to that contained in Country Reports 2000 could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

No information on the penalties for illegally leaving Sudan could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
