Several sources reported on the defection of the Press Attache at the Somali Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Abdirahman Dini Osoble, who had been the Somali Press Attache in Kenya for two years, announced his defection on 3 June 1987. According to Reuters, Mr. Dini Osoble stated that he could no longer defend his country's actions and that he would be seeking political asylum outside of Africa and the Soviet Union.
