In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of Foreigners Act, 1946 (XXXI of 1946), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order, namely:-

1.Short title and commencements.

(1)This Order may be called the Foreigners (Restriction on Movements) Order, 1960.

(2)It shall come into force at once.

2.Definition.

In this Order, "Chinese nationals" includes an indigenous inhabitant of the Tibet region of China.

3.Restrictions on movements of Chinese nationals.

Notwithstanding anything contained in any order or directions, that may have been issued by any authority, no Chinese national shall -

(1)enter, or depart from, the district of Darjeeling across the Sikkim-West Bental border except through the check-post at Rangpor Pedong; and

(2)enter, or depart from the district of Darjeeling from or to any other part of India except through the check-post at Siliguri.
