India: 1. Please advise whether the AIADMK party lost the state elections in 2006. 2. Are there any reports of violence between DMK supporters and AIADMK members in 2006? 3. Is there any report of Mr Karunanidhi, Chief Minister and leader of the DMK and his son being removed from his house and imprisoned in 2005/2006, leading to his death? 4. Are there tensions/ violence between DMK and AIADMK supporters throughout India? Are there any states immune to any such conflict? 5. Is there any information about the police providing protection to AIADMK supporters, or about the prosecution of DMK members for violence against IADMK supporters? 6. What is the current situation in Tamil Nadu and other states of India between Hindus and Muslims, and in particular, are there any current reports of violence perpetrated on Muslims by Hindus? If there is, is there any indication that the state is able to protect the Muslims?
