Iranian authorities accused Jundallah leader Abdulmalik Rigi of being responsible for armed robbery, attacks on security forces and civilians, and murder, among other crimes.
Iran has announced that it has hanged the leader of the Sunni Muslim insurgent group Jundallah.
The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency said Abdulmalik Rigi was hanged June 20 in Evin prison in Tehran.
The report said Rigi was responsible for armed robbery, attacks on security forces and civilians, and murder, among other crimes.
Rigi, who was captured in February on a flight from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan, had led a group that claimed responsibility for deadly attacks on security forces in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The group says minority Sunnis suffer discrimination by Iran's Shi'ite leadership.
Iranian authorities have accused the United States and its allies of having intelligence links to Jundallah – a charge Washington has denied.
