In a letter dated 23 November 1998, an official of the Embassy of Israel in Ottawa informed the Research Directorate that there does not appear to be any instance in which Israel's Minister of Interior Affairs has exercised his authority to terminate the Israeli citizenship of an individual based on active membership in one of the constituent organizations of the PLO.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
