A consular officer of the Embassy of Angola in Ottawa stated that he was unaware of any agreement between Angola and Portugal on the return of students to Angola following studies in Portugal (5 July 2002).

Correspondence received from the Consular Affairs and Portuguese Communities Branch of the government of Portugal confirmed that there was no such agreement (31 July 2002).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
