COC Netherlands advocates for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people (LGBTI persons). We are committed to promoting equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance of LGBTI persons in the Netherlands and all around the world. We strive for a diverse and inclusive world where people can develop to their full potential, irrespective of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics. Founded in 1946, COC is the world’s oldest still existing LGBTI-organization, and currently it is one of the few LGBTI organizations that has a special consultative status with the United Nations.
