The Global Protection Cluster Task Team on Anti-Trafficking in Humanitarian Action is pleased to announce an upcoming 2-day practitioner working group in Geneva, on 14-15 March 2019: “Extending Protection: Integrating anti-trafficking programming into existing mechanisms and strengthening systematic responses to support victims.”
The Conference will be jointly convened by the Task Team co-leads: Heartland Alliance International (HAI), International Organization on Migration (IOM) and UNHCR. It will be held at the UNHCR headquarters, with generous financial support from the United States Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).
The conference will include active discussions on trafficking in crisis, specifically, how anti-trafficking initiatives can be incorporated into existing mechanisms and what steps must be taken to strengthen systematic responses to support trafficking victims.
Protection experts familiar with anti-trafficking concepts are encouraged to participated especially those with field experience. The conference will feature solutions-oriented working sessions rather than presentations, so participants working in crisis areas (including Cox’s Bazaar, central and east Africa, Iraq, and the Whole of Syria response) who are able to discuss and contribute perspectives based on current experience are welcomed.
