UNHCR Honorary Lifetime Goodwill Ambassador Barbara Hendricks travelled to Greece in June 2016 to learn more about UNHCR's work and the experiences of refugees in flight from conflict and persecution.

  • Barbara meets Aala at Diavata Camp, near Thessonaliki. Aala has severe disabilities and, despite being 8 years old, weighs only 10 kilos. His family carried him from Syria travelling by foot and by sea to seek medical help, but have been in Diavata Camp for 3 months.
