Aseel Omran has been supporting UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since 2019.
Aseel is an actress and singer from Saudi Arabia who gained worldwide fame through her appearance on the reality talent show Gulf Stars. Aseel is known for several roles in TV shows including Netflix’s Black Crows, What If, Qabel Lil Kaser, Harun Al Rashid and Akoun Aw La. In her singing career, Aseel signed with Rotana Records which led to the release of “Khajlanah”, her very first music album in 2007, followed by her second album “Allah Yhannini” the next year and a third album, “Mo Bessahel” in 2011. She is brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris and is known for her YouTube content and music covers and collaborations which rack up millions of views.
Aseel has collaborated with UNHCR on many occasions over the last few years, including a field visit to Za’atari camp and most notably a day she spent getting to know a young refugee girl named Esraa. Aseel was a strong voice for several of UNHCR’s major campaigns including the winter appeal and the monsoon appeal for Rohingya Refugees. Most recently, Aseel supported UNHCR’s “Every Gift Counts” campaign in 2020. Aseel signed on as a UNHCR High Profile Supporter in July of 2020.
