Anita Nair has been supporting UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since December 2020.
Anita Nair is a critically acclaimed and bestselling author of nine novels and a short story collection. She has also published six books for children, three original audio books, a collection of poems and a collection of essays. Anita has also written two plays and the screenplay for the movie adaptation of her novel Lessons in Forgetting which won the national award in 2013. Her books have been published in over 31 languages around the world.
She is also the founder of Anita’s Attic, a creative writing mentorship program.
Apart from winning the Central Sahithya Akademi Award and the Crossword Prize, Anita Nair is the recipient of several awards and honours.

She was awarded the JFW [South India's leading women's magazine] award for literary excellence.
She was awarded Arch of Excellence Award by the All India Achievers’ Conference, New Delhi for Literature.
