Branka Katić
Critically acclaimed Serbian actress, Branka Katić has been supporting UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since early 2021.
About Branka
Branka made her first movie when she was 14, and has since collaborated with some of the most influential directors in the region and worldwide, and has worked alongside world renowned actors including Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. She currently lives between London, Belgrade and Los Angeles.
Branka started her collaboration with UNHCR by supporting efforts around the inclusion and integration of refugees into Serbian society. After visiting unaccompanied refugees in Belgrade, Branka immediately became determined to be an advocate for the forcibly displaced. She has subsequently appeared in a short film The Lost Dreams, marking 10 years of war in Syria and has introduced UNHCR to her wide networks of friends and colleagues in order to further support the work of UNHCR.
Brank continues to use her voice and platform to promote UNHCR awareness campaigns, events and advocacy efforts, including around World Refugee Day. She is a particular supporter of refugee education and has also spoken out in interviews and public appearances about the importance of countering xenophobia and intolerance towards refugees.
