ProFuturo Foundation
About the partnership
Since: 2021
Location: Rwanda
At the start of 2021, the ProFuturo Foundation partnered with UNHCR to help improve the quality of education for more than 17,000 refugee and host community primary school children in Rwanda. The partnership will see the implementation of the ProFuturo digital education programme in nine schools in Rwanda. The programme, which was launched by Telefonica Foundation and “la Caixa” Foundation, includes the provision of technology (such as computers, tablets, projectors), an educational content platform, as well as a training and capacity building program for more than 300 national teachers.
Additionally, ProFuturo Foundation will support the construction and provision of equipment for three Information and communications technology classrooms.
The goal of this partnership is to strengthen the quality of primary education for refugees and host community children, encourage student participation in the classroom, improve student enrollment and retention, and enhance the use of digital tools and online platforms for teachers.
