Different stakeholders, such as the government, other UNHCR partners, and refugees play important roles in upholding UNHCR’s mandate in the protection of refugees’ rights.
UNHCR Iran is committed to ensuring that through enhanced skills, and fulfilled potentials, the stakeholders involved in refugee affairs, are able to improve refugees’ lives.
Capacity-building activities are geared towards strengthening the stakeholders’ ability to handle refugees affairs according to international norms, and ensure that adequate laws are passed and relevant policies implemented so that refugee issues such as the promotion of self-reliance of refugees and the realization of durable solutions are handled effectively.
These objectives cannot be accomplished alone. It requires a partnership framework involving host and donor governments, humanitarian assistance and developmental agencies, civil society, NGOs, as well as the refugees themselves.
For this purpose, UNHCR Iran has launched several training activities and workshops to enhance the skills of its partners and bodies involved in refugee affairs.
