Other information
CHANGING PERCEPTIONS
He believes the culture in Palestine is such that athletes with an impairment are not understood or included, but he hoped that the 2012 Paralympic Games would help change that. "Even the small group of disabled athletes in Gaza can be an example to other disabled people, that we can come out and be successful. We’re changing the concept of being disabled. We’re showing that an accident or disability is not the end of the world. Wake up and become self-sufficient." (palestinianmissionuk.com, 10 Aug 2012)

DOCUMENTARY
He was the focus of a documentary produced by British TV station Channel 4 that featured Paralympic athletes in Gaza. (channel4.com, 15 Nov 2011)
