"I originally learnt how to swim in 2002 in my aunt's swimming pool. My grandfather was teaching me. On the flight home to England with my family my grandfather passed away. His legacy was me learning to swim."

In February 2020 she announced her retirement from Para swimming. "Having taken time to reflect on my swimming career I decided to retire.
