He wanted to compete in wheelchair basketball but the local club closed, so he tried shooting, found he enjoyed it and had talent for the sport.

Impairment
At age 19 a motorcycle accident resulted in the amputation of his right leg below the knee. He also has muscular atrophy and semi paralysis in both legs.
