When and where did you begin this sport?
He began powerlifting at age 19 in Monterrey, Mexico.
Why this sport?
He wanted to get involved in Para sport to improve his health. In 1991 he was invited to try out in Para athletics for the Nuevo Leon team in Mexico. "As I couldn't make a qualifying standard, I was invited to join the team in weightlifting because I used to go to the gym."
Training Regime
He trains at the 'Ninos Heroes' High Performance Centre in Monterrey, Mexico.

RETIREMENT PLANS
He intends to retire after the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. "Every four years I am asked if I am going to be at the Paralympics. And I always say, 'I'm going to be in Tokyo'.
