He took up biathlon in 2002.
Why this sport?
"I had bought ski equipment and I thought I could train with it. It did not work well, then I tried a toboggan. But then there was a lady from the ski federation who saw me rushing around here and there with my equipment and she asked me if I would join a recruitment meeting. It all started from there."

He competed in both cross-country skiing and biathlon at the Paralympic Winter Games in 2010, 2014 and 2018. He was on the Norwegian national baseball team before the amputation of his leg in 2001, and he won a gold medal in Para ice hockey at the 2007 European Championships in Pinerolo, Italy. FUTURE PLANS
He plans to focus on another sport after he has retired from competitive Nordic skiing. "The plan is to go home after retiring. I have a plan to continue with golf after the skiing career is over. Or maybe I'll go to Haugesund and start a hockey club. I'm not going to give up sports, I'm just going to change. So I'm just waiting for the next Paralympics." (hnytt.no, 11 Apr 2018)
