Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
She began swimming at an early age, but did not pursue the sport seriously until age 18.
Why this sport?
Her father Andre said she initially took up swimming because it was a sport that was accessible for her level of impairment, and that once she started competing it had a strong impact on her autonomy and social skills. "I love swimming because I feel so light in the water. I don't need to use a wheelchair in the water. It helps keep me in shape."
