In 1996 his car crashed into a tractor trailer and skidded into a ditch. The driver of the tractor did not notice the impact and Ojala was trapped in his car for seven hours. OTHER ACTIVITIES
He has held a number of roles with the Vastergotland Para Sports Federation in Sweden, which include serving as a board member, an information officer, director of the education and information committee, and chairman of the federation's NCC Julstipendium scholarship. He has also worked with Delaktighet Handlingskraft Rorelsefrihet [DHR], a non-profit organisation for people with reduced mobility in Sweden.
