At the centre of the medals produced for the London 2012 Paralympic Games is a close-up image of the wings of the Greek Goddess of Victory, embossed with the new logo of the International Paralympic Committee (without the acronym IPC above it).

The rim reads “London 2012 Paralympic Games” in both, braille and English. The reverse features the “heart of Victory”, with overlaid textures taken from ancient Greek statues.

The medals produced for London 2012 are, to date, the heaviest and largest medals ever created for the summer edition of the Paralympic Games. The gold and silver medals weigh 412g, whilst the bronze ones are 357g.
