When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up para-athletics at age 20 in Tlaxcala, Mexico.
Why this sport?
At age 12 he met coach Martin Diaz Lopez who invited him to join his wheelchair athletics team in Tlaxcala, but Sanchez refused. Eight years later he and Diaz met again following surgery on his leg, and this time he accepted the offer to join the team. He trained under Lopez until 2013, when he moved to Mexico City to train at the National Paralympic Training Centre.
