Milestones
He became the first Korean wheelchair racer to win a gold medal at the world championships when he claimed victory in the T54 800m at the 2013 edition in Lyon, France. He was also the first Korean wheelchair marathoner to win a medal at the Paralympic Games, finishing in third place at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
