He took up the sport in 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
Why this sport?
While rehabilitating after his stroke, he came across an advertisement for a snowboarding course in Finland. He was hesitant to take part at first, as the course was aimed at able-bodied people, but the organisers of the programme eventually convinced him to join.
