Sport specific information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He was introduced to skiing as a child when his father took him to the nearby pistes of Gourette in the Pyrenees. As a teenager, he switched to snowboarding and "found a freedom that was missing in skiing".
Why this sport?
In 2005, four years after his accident, his friends, girlfriend and family convinced him to try skiing again. He learned of a ski monitor named Francois Laboissette who specialised in teaching people with paraplegia to ski. He was hesitant at first, thinking it could not compare to able-bodied skiing. "And how wrong I was. As soon as I was in the chair, Francois asked me, 'Do you really want to see what we can do in this thing?' and before I could respond we were off. Sensations of speed, the proximity to the snow at every turn.If this chair wasn't dedicated to people with disabilities, it could easily be a new alternative to skiing or snowboarding."

"After a huge jump, I missed the landing and my legs, tired from the morning's action, couldn't keep me from falling back on a rock hidden underneath the fresh powder. I wanted to move my body to get out of the landing zone, but nothing happened." (Loussaleznicolas.unblog.fr, 04 Jan 2011)
