She was interested in shooting before she became ill. She was then invited to a shooting activity by a colleague after returning to work from the hospital.

She has served as an executive director of the Paralympian Association of Japan and as an athlete member of the organising committee for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo. "At the Tokyo 2020 Games I would like to make an environment not only for shooting athletes, but also all athletes so that they can realise their potential ability and set their personal bests." In 2018 she was appointed as athlete liaison officer to the Sport Technical Committee of the World Shooting Para Sport Management Team. "I would like others to know about the wonderful sport that gave me the power to fight for myself, and I would like to attract more people to the sport."
